Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Energy Marshal to join a general contracting firm specializing in the delivery of large-scale data center projects. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of energization and isolation safety on high-stakes construction sites, ensuring safe commissioning of electrical systems across critical facilities. You’ll act as the go-to authority on energy isolation standards, guiding teams, auditing practices, and preventing unsafe work during commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all energization and isolation activities on construction sites, ensuring compliance with LOTO procedures and safety standards.
• Audit energy isolation practices, verify commissioning plans, and review quality reports to maintain safe and efficient operations.
• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for energy isolation, providing guidance and support to construction and project teams.
• Participate in High Risk Activity (HRA) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) meetings , ensuring procedures and pre-energization inspections are correctly executed.
• Partner with project teams to identify and implement process improvements , enhancing safety and operational efficiency across multiple construction sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in energy isolation, electrical safety, or a related field, preferably in commercial construction or data center projects.
• NFPA 70E Certification and experience with construction and commissioning standards .
• Strong technical understanding of electrical systems across AC and DC voltages, including interpretation of line drawings and system redundancies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to engineers, contractors, and site personnel, and proficiency in auditing site practices against written standards.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary up to £160,000
• Generous monthly subsistence allowance
• Annual bonus, taking the total package well over £200,000
