Part-Time Payroll Specialist

Schedule: 20–25 hours per week

Location: Los Angeles, CA 90004 (OPEN TO HYBRID/REMOTE)

Pay Rate: $35/hr

Duration: Medical leave coverage

Our client, a private secondary school located in the heart of Los Angeles, is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to provide part-time coverage during a medical leave. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems and be able to manage payroll functions accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the final stages of payroll system implementation with ADP, including data validation, testing, and troubleshooting
• Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion
• Review and reconcile payroll reports, identifying and resolving discrepancies in employee data, timecards, and pay calculations
• Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements
• Research and resolve payroll-related issues promptly
• Provide possible backup support for accounts payable, including invoice entry, payment processing, and vendor inquiries as needed

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with ADP payroll systems
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
