Job Description

FRAME is a Californian fashion brand established in 2012 by Erik Torstensson and Jens Grede.

Since inception, FRAME has embodied Californian modernity with a distinctly European influence through its renowned ready-to-wear collections and coveted denim essentials. Born and raised in Los Angeles, FRAME offers a timeless perspective on everyday chic outfitting via signature tailoring, luxury leather, and quality cashmere.

Today, FRAME is a household name across both women’s and men’s design, with 15 standalone retail stores across North America, two London stores, a store in Shanghai and a dedicated eCommerce website. FRAME can also be found at the most desirable department stores and boutiques worldwide.

FRAME is seeking a highly creative and technically skilled Senior Knitwear Designer to join our Ready-to-Wear team. This role is responsible for driving innovation, modernity, and product excellence within our Sweaters and Cut & Sew categories, blending trend research with a deep understanding of craftsmanship and brand DNA.

  • Delegate projects and tasks to Assistant and Associate Designers, providing leadership, mentorship, and constructive feedback to guide their growth.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Product Development, and Production to ensure design intent aligns with business goals, cost targets, and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Technical Design and Pattern Making teams to achieve FRAME’s desired fit, construction, and elevated quality standards.
  • Lead seasonal yarn and fabric research and selection, presenting curated options to Design leadership at milestone reviews.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international yarn and fabric vendors, exploring new techniques, innovations, and sustainable opportunities.
  • Oversee and lead all fittings to ensure proper execution of design vision and technical precision.
  • Maintain deep awareness of FRAME’s competitive landscape, ensuring collections balance trend relevance with brand integrity.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in Fashion Design, with a strong focus on fully fashioned knitwear.
  • BFA in Fashion Design or equivalent.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, and Excel ; experience with PLM systems a plus.
  • Strong technical understanding of knitwear, including yarn counts, gauges, stitches, knitting techniques, and finishing details .
  • Established relationships or familiarity with major yarn and fabric mills , particularly Italian and Chinese suppliers.
  • Exceptional design sensibility with a passion for luxury and contemporary markets.
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills ; comfortable presenting concepts to leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple deadlines.
