Position: Shipping/ Administrative Intern
Reporting Into: Maria Dziedzic
Grade: $25-30 p/h
Shipping/Administrative Intern performs various clerical duties to support shipping operations, such as filing paperwork, managing shipping documents, creating labels, and assisting with data entry. Key responsibilities often include maintaining records, coordinating logistics-related communications, tracking shipments, and organizing shipping materials to ensure efficient and compliant processes. This role provides hands-on experience with carrier software, inventory management, and teamwork within a fast-paced logistics environment.
Common Duties & Responsibilities:
Receive, sort, file, and distribute shipping-related documents, such as invoices, packing lists, and carrier paperwork.
Create shipping labels using carrier software, package products, and verify shipping information.
Input shipping data into internal systems, maintain reporting, and assist in creating inventory reports.
Help track inventory and organize shipping supplies.
Interact with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues and provide updates on shipments.
Perform general office duties like managing mail, answering phones, and maintaining filing systems.
Assist in resolving issues with purchase orders, damaged goods, or discrepancies in shipments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and carrier software is often a plus.
Strong ability to manage files, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues and other departments.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a logistics setting.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new systems, processes, and procedures.
Ability to identify and help resolve issues related to logistics and inventory.
Hourly Rate: $25-$30 per hour
